Sebi comes back from behind

The lead passed from hand to hand, 5 times over — it was anyone's guess.

Neck and neck with Elena, but Sebi kept their word better when it counted. It didn't start well — only 3rd after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Sebi didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Elena led for 19 hands but finished second, 0 points behind. Level on points with Sebi, and behind only on the tie-break. In the first of the opening eights: Elena said 3, scooped 6, and Pity was left counting the pieces.

Pity rounds out the podium with 97 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. Pity was ahead of Sebi right up to the last hand. 2 hands in a row: Pity broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs.

Ionela took last place without any nerves at all, on 76 points. The table was Ionela's after the seven-card hand on the way down; the second half had other ideas.
