Ana, from start to finish

An evening with a bit of everything, except contracts kept: 39 slips at the table and scores from 100 down to 63.

Ana took the game with 100 points and a 27-point cushion — never really in doubt. In front from the third of the opening eights to the end, and nobody got close enough to worry about. 2 hands in a row: Ana broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs.

Mihai took second with 73 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. The last hand decided it: Mihai went past Luis right on the line. In the last of the opening eights, Mihai bid 4 and took 7 — and Elena and Luis went down with them.

Third, on the podium: Luis, up there with eyes on the top step. Luis was ahead of Mihai right up to the last hand.

Last, but with style: Elena, with 63 points. At least there were cards worth talking about. After the two-card hand on the way up, Elena was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Well played everyone — and especially Ana!
