Elena closed the table from the back, on 83 points — there is always a next game. Level on points with Ana, and behind only on the tie-break. In the third of the closing eights, Elena bid 3 and took 6 — and Luis went down with it.

Ana finished 4th with 83 points. In the first of the opening eights: Ana said 0, scooped 3, and Elena was left counting the pieces. Ana was ahead of Luis right up to the last hand.

Luis rounds out the podium with 85 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. The last hand decided it: Luis went past Ana right on the line. 2 hands in a row: Luis broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs.

Vînă led for 14 hands but finished second, 2 points behind. Vînă left the robot at the wheel most of the evening and still came out respectable. Teamwork with the server.

Mihai won with 91 points, by a whisker: just 2 points ahead. It didn't start well — only 3rd after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there. And that despite a slip in the very last hand.
