Alina comes back from behind

The lead passed from hand to hand, 4 times over — it was anyone's guess.

Alina won with 89 points, by a whisker: just 2 points ahead. It didn't start well — only 3rd after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there. At one stretch, 10 good hands in a row.

Kiki led for 15 hands but finished second, 2 points behind. Kiki swore 0 in the four-card hand on the way down and took a trick — whist has a sense of humour. The first of the closing eights: 1 chair and 1 kiss flew at Kiki 🪑💋 — the table couldn't decide whether it adored them.

Third, on the podium: Cretu, up there with eyes on the top step. In the third of the closing eights: Cretu said 0, scooped 3, and Kiki was left counting the pieces. In the third of the closing eights the table couldn't make up its mind about Cretu: 1 chair and 1 kiss flew in within seconds 🪑💋.

PaulP closed the table from the back, on 54 points — there is always a next game. 2 hands in a row: PaulP broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs.

Well played everyone — and especially Alina!
