Elena takes the table

An evening with a bit of everything, except contracts kept: 43 slips at the table and scores from 99 down to 51.

Elena won at a stroll, with 99 points and 32 clear of the rest.

Ioana took second with 67 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Ioana left the robot at the wheel most of the evening and still came out respectable. Teamwork with the server.

Third, and on the podium: Luis, with 55 points. In the second of the opening eights: Luis said 0, made 4, and the evening was ruined for Elena. At one stretch, 8 good hands in a row.

Ana closes out the table, with 51 points. "Last one buys the coffee" — as they say at the table. From leader to red lantern. The little wedge tipped the big cart — and the cart was Ana. 3 hands in a row: only Ana slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Ana.

Well played everyone — and especially Elena!
