The comeback of Pity

The lead changed hands 8 times — nobody got comfortable at the top.

The tail of the table: Olga, with 72 points. Somebody has to hold the candle. In the four-card hand on the way down, Olga bid 1 and took 4 — and Mara went down with it. Olga cried laughing 3 times 😂 — a fun evening, at least on one side of the table.

Alice finishes right in the middle — neither hot nor cold — 4th, with 75 points. Alice said they'd take nothing in the first of the opening eights... and took some. Whist listens, then does the opposite. The first of the opening eights: 2 kisses rained down on Alice 💋 — the darling of the table.

Mara rounds out the podium with 88 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. In the fourth of the middle eights, Mara bid 3 and took 7 — and Alice went down with it. Mara was even in front after the six-card hand on the way down.

Kiki finishes second, 6 points short of gold. Silver shines, but not quite the same. Kiki was even in front after the seven-card hand on the way down.

Pity crossed the finish line first, on 105 points. And that despite a slip in the very last hand. The four-card hand on the way down: 2 chairs thrown at Pity in seconds 🪑 — the table spoke its mind, furnished and all.

Congratulations to all — see you at the next table!
