Luis comes back from behind

Elena led for 18 hands but finished second, 2 points behind. Elena was ahead of Luis right up to the last hand. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Elena didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Mihai rounds out the podium with 71 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. In the first of the closing eights: Mihai called 1, took 4, and Elena was left out in the cold.

Ana closes out the table, with 62 points. "Last one buys the coffee" — as they say at the table. In the five-card hand on the way down, Ana bid 1 and took 4 — and Elena and Luis went down with them. 2 hands in a row: only Ana slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Ana.
