Ana wins it late

The lead changed hands 10 times — nobody got comfortable at the top.

Mihai took last place without any nerves at all, on 63 points. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Mihai said and... hoped. It didn't hold. After the two-card hand on the way up, Mihai was 3rd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Elena completed the podium with 83 points. In the last of the closing eights: Elena called 1, took 5, and Ana and Luis were left out in the cold. 2 hands in a row: only Elena slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Elena.

Luis led for 11 hands but finished second, 8 points behind. Luis swore 0 in the two-card hand on the way down and took a trick — whist has a sense of humour.

Ana gathered 94 points and the hearts of the crowd. Bravo! In the last of the opening eights: Ana said 0, made 4, and the evening was ruined for Elena. And that despite a slip in the very last hand.
