Mara comes back from behind

6 players, 30 hands, one winner. Here is how it went.

Mara won at a stroll, with 142 points and 25 clear of the rest. It didn't start well — only 4th after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there. At one stretch, 18 good hands in a row.

10plus took second with 117 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. 10plus got past Matei at the very last hand.

Matei rounds out the podium with 117 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. Level on points with 10plus, and behind only on the tie-break. Matei was ahead of 10plus right up to the last hand.

Ana :) finished 4th with 111 points. Ana got past PaulP at the very last hand.

Neither at the front nor at the back: PaulP in 5th, with 104 points. The comfort zone. PaulP was ahead of Ana :) right up to the last hand. After the first of the closing eights, PaulP was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans. The fifth of the closing eights: 1 chair and 1 kiss flew at PaulP 🪑💋 — the table couldn't decide whether it adored them.

Abdrei took last place without any nerves at all, on 84 points. 13 broken contracts, collected like stamps.
