The comeback of Radu

Mihai took last place without any nerves at all, on 72 points. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Mihai didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Neither at the front nor at the back: Emi in 5th, with 92 points. The comfort zone. In the fifth of the middle eights, Emi bid 0 and took 3 — and 3 others went down with them. Emi was even in front after the last of the opening eights.

Ioana finished 4th with 104 points. After the two-card hand on the way up, Ioana was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Third, and on the podium: Ana, with 108 points. In the third of the closing eights: Ana said 0, scooped 3, and Elena and Emi were left counting the pieces. At one stretch, 12 good hands in a row.

Elena took second with 113 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Elena was even in front after the two-card hand on the way down.

Radu won at a stroll, with 137 points and 24 clear of the rest. It didn't start well — only 4th after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there.
