Sebi wins the evening

A game of broken contracts — 37 of them around the table, and scores from 111 all the way down to 52.

Last place, with dignity: Mihai, with 52 points. Somebody had to do it. In the first of the middle eights: Mihai said 2, scooped 5, and Elena was left counting the pieces. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Mihai said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

Elena completed the podium with 65 points. 2 hands in a row: only Elena slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Elena.

Denisa took second with 82 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. In the last of the closing eights: Denisa said 3, scooped 6, and Elena was left counting the pieces. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Denisa said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

Sebi took the game with 111 points and a 29-point cushion — never really in doubt. 11 good hands in a row — at one point, Sebi was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.

Congratulations to all — see you at the next table!
