Luis wins the evening

A game of broken contracts — 43 of them around the table, and scores from 99 all the way down to 53.

Last place: Ana, with 53 points. In the second of the middle eights: Ana said 1, scooped 4, and Elena was left counting the pieces. After the two-card hand on the way up, Ana was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Elena rounds out the podium with 57 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. 2 hands in a row: Elena broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs.

Mihai took second with 62 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Mihai left the robot at the wheel most of the evening and still came out respectable. Teamwork with the server.

Luis took the game with 99 points and a 37-point cushion — never really in doubt. 10 good hands in a row — at one point, Luis was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.

Well played everyone. Same table next time?
