Mihai comes back from behind

The lead passed from hand to hand, 5 times over — it was anyone's guess.

Mihai took the game with 104 points and a 24-point cushion — never really in doubt. It didn't start well — only 4th after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there. 2 hands in a row: Mihai broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs.

Sebi took second with 80 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Sebi was even in front after the six-card hand on the way down.

Ana completed the podium with 76 points. In the third of the middle eights, Ana bid 1 and took 6 — and Sebi went down with it.

Last place, with dignity: Elena, with 62 points. Somebody had to do it. Started like a champion — top of the table after the last of the opening eights — and finished like a tragedy.
