Luis comes back from behind

The lead passed from hand to hand, 4 times over — it was anyone's guess.

Luis wins by 20 clear. That's not whist any more, it's a parade with a brass band. In the seven-card hand on the way down: Luis said 3, scooped 6, and Ionela and Mihai were left counting the pieces. At one stretch, 7 good hands in a row.

Ana took second with 81 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Ana was even in front after the four-card hand on the way down.

Ionela rounds out the podium with 76 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. 2 hands in a row: Ionela broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs. Ionela was even in front after the second of the middle eights.

Mihai closed the table from the back, on 67 points — there is always a next game. The table was Mihai's after the seven-card hand on the way down; the second half had other ideas.
