Coca comes back from behind

An evening with a bit of everything, except contracts kept: 41 slips at the table and scores from 92 down to 57.

Coca took the game with 92 points and a 21-point cushion — never really in doubt. It didn't start well — only 3rd after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there. 7 good hands in a row — at one point, Coca was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.

Iuly took second with 71 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Iuly got past Luis at the very last hand. In the third of the middle eights: Iuly said 1, scooped 4, and Coca was left counting the pieces.

Third, and on the podium: Luis, with 71 points. Level on points with Iuly, and behind only on the tie-break. Luis was ahead of Iuly right up to the last hand. Luis cried laughing 7 times 😂 — the cheapest entertainment at the table.

Ionela closes out the table, with 57 points. "Last one buys the coffee" — as they say at the table. Before the last eights, only 10 points off the podium — the pace just didn't hold.

Well played everyone. Same table next time?
