Ana wins it late

The lead passed from hand to hand, 4 times over — it was anyone's guess.

Last place, with dignity: Mihai, with 53 points. Somebody had to do it. Top of the table after the last of the opening eights, then straight to the bottom. The plan at home didn't match the one at the table. 3 hands in a row: the table said and did, Mihai said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

Elena completed the podium with 55 points. The last hand decided it: Elena went past Mihai right on the line. 2 hands in a row: only Elena slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Elena.

edge finishes second, 4 points short of gold. Silver shines, but not quite the same. In the first of the opening eights, edge bid 1 and took 4 — and Elena went down with it. edge was even in front after the four-card hand on the way up.

Ana comes out on top of everyone, with 110 points. The cards were kind. And that despite a slip in the very last hand.
