Vînă takes the table

The cards were dealt, and so were the nerves. Here is the story.

Vînă won at a stroll, with 118 points and 21 clear of the rest. At one stretch, 12 good hands in a row. And that despite a slip in the very last hand.

Elena took second with 97 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Elena didn't — but insisted, with dignity. Elena was even in front after the last of the opening eights.

Third, on the podium: unf0rgettable, up there with eyes on the top step. unf0rgettable got past Victor Mihail at the very last hand.

Victor Mihail finished 4th with 93 points. Victor was ahead of unf0rgettable right up to the last hand. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Victor didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

The tail of the table: Ioana, with 81 points. Somebody has to hold the candle. In the fourth of the opening eights, Ioana bid 0 and took 4 — and unf0rgettable went down with it. 2 hands in a row: only Ioana slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Ioana.
