The comeback of Sebi

A game of broken contracts — 37 of them around the table, and scores from 112 all the way down to 55.

Elena took last place without any nerves at all, on 55 points. In the last of the middle eights: Elena called 1, took 4, and Ana was left out in the cold. 2 hands in a row: only Elena slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Elena.

Third, on the podium: Ana, up there with eyes on the top step. Ana was even in front after the last of the opening eights.

Mihai took second with 85 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Mihai left the robot at the wheel most of the evening and still came out respectable. Teamwork with the server.

Sebi took the game with 112 points and a 27-point cushion — never really in doubt. In the last of the closing eights, Sebi bid 1 and took 7 — and Ana and Mihai went down with them. 10 good hands in a row — at one point, Sebi was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.
