Ana took second with 77 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. The last hand decided it: Ana went past Mihai right on the line. 2 hands in a row: only Ana slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Ana.

Mihai rounds out the podium with 74 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. Mihai was ahead of Ana right up to the last hand.

Last, but with style: Elena, with 71 points. At least there were cards worth talking about. Leading by the book until the seven-card hand on the way down... then the cards turned the page. Elena, hard luck.
