Mihai never gave up the lead

A game of broken contracts — 40 of them around the table, and scores from 103 all the way down to 60.

Last place, with dignity: Ana, with 60 points. Somebody had to do it. The place above was a single point away. After the first of the closing eights, Ana was 3rd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Luis completed the podium with 61 points. Luis was ahead of Alina right up to the last hand. Luis cried laughing 5 times 😂 — a fun evening, at least on one side of the table.

Alina took second with 63 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. The last hand decided it: Alina went past Luis right on the line.

Mihai won at a stroll, with 103 points and 40 clear of the rest. In front from the last of the opening eights to the end, and nobody got close enough to worry about. At one stretch, 8 good hands in a row.

Well played everyone — and especially Mihai!
