Denisa comes back from behind

5 changes of leader: this one was a tug of war.
Denisa took the game with 153 points and a 29-point cushion — never really in doubt. It didn't start well — only 4th after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there. 13 good hands in a row — at one point, Denisa was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.
Alice took second with 124 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Alice was even in front after the four-card hand on the way down.
Kiki rounds out the podium with 118 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. Kiki was even in front after the last of the opening eights.
Cristian Imparat finishes right in the middle — neither hot nor cold — 4th, with 108 points. In the first of the closing eights: Cristian said 0, scooped 6, and Kiki and Mara were left counting the pieces. The five-card hand on the way up: 3 chairs thrown at Cristian in seconds 🪑 — the table spoke its mind, furnished and all.
Mara finished 5th with 102 points. 3 hands in a row: the table said and did, Mara said and... hoped. It didn't hold. After the six-card hand on the way up, Mara was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.
GeorgeS took last place without any nerves at all, on 80 points. 12 broken contracts, collected like stamps.
Well played everyone — and especially Denisa!
