A tug of war, won by PaulP

The lead passed from hand to hand, 5 times over — it was anyone's guess.
1 point. That's all. PaulP won in the blink of an eye — so don't blink. In the second of the opening eights, PaulP bid 0 and took 5 — and Gigel went down with it. In the fifth of the closing eights, 2 chairs flew at PaulP within seconds 🪑 — the table had opinions.
Cosmin finished second, just 1 point short of the win. The place above was a single point away. Cosmin was even in front after the first of the middle eights.
Third, on the podium: Alina, up there with eyes on the top step. Alina got past Emi at the very last hand. In the second of the closing eights: Alina said 0, scooped 3, and Gigel was left counting the pieces. The six-card hand on the way down: 2 chairs thrown at Alina in seconds 🪑 — the table spoke its mind, furnished and all.
Emi finished 4th with 119 points. Emi was ahead of Alina right up to the last hand. After the four-card hand on the way up, Emi was 3rd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans. The four-card hand on the way down: 3 kisses rained down on Emi 💋 — the darling of the table.
Luis finished 5th with 98 points. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Luis said and... hoped. It didn't hold. In the first of the middle eights the table couldn't make up its mind about Luis: 2 chairs and 1 kiss flew in within seconds 🪑💋.
Gigel took last place without any nerves at all, on 78 points. 14 broken contracts, collected like stamps. The last of the middle eights: 1 chair and 1 kiss flew at Gigel 🪑💋 — the table couldn't decide whether it adored them.
Well played everyone — and especially PaulP!
