The comeback of Mihai

The lead passed from hand to hand, 5 times over — it was anyone's guess.

Ana took last place without any nerves at all, on 29 points. In the four-card hand on the way down: Ana said 0, scooped 3, and Mihai was left counting the pieces. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Ana said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

Elena rounds out the podium with 79 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. Elena swore 0 in the five-card hand on the way up and took a trick — whist has a sense of humour.

Emi led for 18 hands but finished second, 6 points behind. In the first of the middle eights, Emi bid 3 and took 6 — and Ana went down with it. Emi was ahead of Mihai right up to the last hand.

First place: Mihai, with 97 points. Mihai only went in front at the very last hand. It didn't start well — only 3rd after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there.
