Radu takes the table

The cards went out, and so did the egos. Here is what came of it.

Champion of the evening: Radu, with 125 points. The rest, see you in the replay. In the first of the closing eights: Radu called 1, took 4, and Ioana was left out in the cold. And that despite a slip in the very last hand.

Elena finishes second, 5 points short of gold. Silver shines, but not quite the same. Elena got past Luis at the very last hand.

Third, on the podium: Luis, up there with eyes on the top step. Level on points with Elena, and behind only on the tie-break. Luis was ahead of Elena right up to the last hand.

Emi finishes right in the middle — neither hot nor cold — 4th, with 114 points. Emi was ahead of Elena right up to the last hand. After the fifth of the closing eights, Emi was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

In 5th place, Ioana, on 87 points. After the two-card hand on the way up, Ioana was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans. 13 good hands in a row — at one point, Ioana was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.

Daniela took last place without any nerves at all, on 56 points. 2 hands in a row: Daniela broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs.

Well played everyone. Same table next time?
