Cozo, from start to finish

6 players, 30 hands, one winner. Here is how it went.

Cozo wins by 21 clear. That's not whist any more, it's a parade with a brass band. In front from the fifth of the opening eights to the end, and nobody got close enough to worry about.

Mihai took second with 129 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. The last hand decided it: Mihai went past Catalin right on the line. In the third of the opening eights: Mihai called 1, took 4, and HelenC was left out in the cold.

Catalin completed the podium with 123 points. Catalin was ahead of Mihai right up to the last hand. 11 good hands in a row — at one point, Catalin was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.

CCC finishes right in the middle — neither hot nor cold — 4th, with 118 points. After the two-card hand on the way up, CCC was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Elena finished 5th with 111 points. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Elena didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

HelenC took last place without any nerves at all, on 81 points. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, HelenC said and... hoped. It didn't hold.
