The comeback of CCC
6 players · 8 October 2026
6 players, 30 hands, one winner and a pile of excuses. Let's see how it went.
Laura closes out the table, with 98 points. "Last one buys the coffee" — as they say at the table. 2 hands in a row: Laura broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs. After the two-card hand on the way up, Laura was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.
In 5th place, Claudiu, on 100 points. Claudiu was ahead of GIBO right up to the last hand. After the five-card hand on the way up, Claudiu was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans. In the last of the closing eights, Claudiu was showered with 3 kisses in a matter of seconds 💋.
Neither at the front nor at the back: GIBO in 4th, with 105 points. The comfort zone. The last hand decided it: GIBO went past Claudiu right on the line. In the seven-card hand on the way down: GIBO called 0, took 4, and Catalin and Claudiu were left out in the cold.
Third, and on the podium: Gigel, with 114 points. Gigel said they'd take nothing in the five-card hand on the way down... and took some. Whist listens, then does the opposite.
Catalin finishes second, 10 points short of gold. Silver shines, but not quite the same. In the third of the opening eights: Catalin said 0, made 3, and the evening was ruined for Laura. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Catalin didn't — but insisted, with dignity.
First place and peace of mind: CCC, with 128 points. It didn't start well — only 3rd after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there.
Well played everyone — and especially CCC!
