Luis comes back from behind

4 changes of leader: this one was a tug of war.

Luis finished level with Ana on 87 points and took the win on the tie-break: fewer broken contracts. It didn't start well — only 4th after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Luis said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

Ana finished second, just 0 points short of the win. Level on points with Luis, and behind only on the tie-break. 2 hands in a row: only Ana slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Ana.

Third, on the podium: Elena, up there with eyes on the top step. Elena got past Mihai at the very last hand. In the first of the middle eights: Elena said 3, scooped 6, and Ana and Mihai were left counting the pieces.

Mihai closes out the table, with 75 points. "Last one buys the coffee" — as they say at the table. In the second of the closing eights: Mihai called 1, took 5, and Luis was left out in the cold. Mihai was ahead of Elena right up to the last hand.
