Emi takes the table

An evening with a bit of everything, except contracts kept: 37 slips at the table and scores from 119 down to 62.

Emi won at a stroll, with 119 points and 43 clear of the rest. In the last of the middle eights: Emi said 1, scooped 5, and Luis was left counting the pieces. At one stretch, 8 good hands in a row. Emi cried laughing 3 times 😂 — the cheapest entertainment at the table.

Mihai took second with 76 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. 2 hands in a row: Mihai broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs. Mihai spent a good while in last place and climbed out of it.

Third, on the podium: Elena, up there with eyes on the top step. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Elena didn't — but insisted, with dignity. Elena was even in front after the six-card hand on the way down.

Last, but with style: Luis, with 62 points. At least there were cards worth talking about. After the two-card hand on the way up, Luis was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Congratulations to all — see you at the next table!
