Luis takes the table

The cards went out, and so did the egos. Here is what came of it.

Luis wins by 26 clear. That's not whist any more, it's a parade with a brass band. At one stretch, 9 good hands in a row.

Radu took second with 92 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. 3 hands in a row: Radu broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs. Radu spent a good while in last place and climbed out of it.

Mihai completed the podium with 83 points. The last hand decided it: Mihai went past Ionela right on the line. 3 hands in a row: only Mihai slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Mihai.

The tail of the table: Ionela, with 76 points. Somebody has to hold the candle. Ionela was ahead of Mihai right up to the last hand. 2 hands in a row: Ionela broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs.
